Senior Human Resources Specialist

The Senior Human Resources Specialist supports all primary and advanced HR responsibilities, including payroll, benefits administration, employee onboarding and offboarding, HR compliance, employee engagement initiatives, recruiting, and HRIS management. This key role serves as a senior resource for complex employee relations issues and supports continuous improvement within HR, organizational culture, and strategy. Responsibilities Supervise and administer all payroll processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Serve as primary administrator for employee benefits, guiding new hires and ongoing benefits management. Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS for accuracy and compliance. Lead all aspects of employee onboarding and offboarding. Serve as trusted resource for HR policy, benefits, payroll, and employee relations matters. Manage compliance-related matters such as workers' compensation, unemployment claims, employment verifications, and audit and reporting requirements. Champion employee wellness, act as FMLA administrator, and complete specialized or confidential projects as needed. Qualifications Associate's degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field is preferred. At least three years of direct experience in Human Resources with advanced knowledge in payroll and benefits administration. A minimum of one-year direct experience in both payroll processing and benefits administration. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; experience with HRIS is strongly preferred. Knowledge of federal, state, and local HR and payroll regulations and compliance standards. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills, with a proven ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity. Ability to travel to other branches, events, and trainings as needed. PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
