Key Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments; assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family as appropriate.
• Circulate during C-Sections, attend deliveries assisting the physician as needed, and follow appropriate policies during recovery and care of surgical patients.
• Attend the neonatal station in the C-Section suite and completely assess the neonate post-delivery.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances; serve as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Required Qualifications

• Active Alabama RN license or multi-state RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Level 1 Nursery, Postpartum, OB/GYN, and/or L&D/LDRP settings.
• Experience may include care of OB/GYN patients (post-op hysterectomy), Antepartum, Triage, Labor and Delivery, and Postpartum care.
• ACLS, BLS, NRP, STABLE, and AWHONN certifications required (must be through the American Heart Association).
• Ability to attend fetal monitoring certification classes every two years and maintain NRP certification.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience in a Women's Services or OB/GYN setting.
• Previous experience working in a community hospital environment, either in a permanent or contract capacity.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems used in labor and delivery or women's health units.
