Dothan, AL | $250,000 to $400,000 per year plus $100,000 signing bonus | Full-time

A 420-bed not-for-profit tertiary referral center in Dothan, Alabama is hiring a board-certified or board-eligible Urologist. The hospital serves a region of more than 600,000 residents and is a Level II trauma center with 22 operating rooms. The practice is located on the medical campus and offers a Monday through Friday schedule, 1 in 5 weekend call, and an optional four-day work week.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with an option for a four-day work week. Call is 1 in 5 weekends.

Compensation

$250,000 to $400,000 per year, plus a $100,000 signing bonus.

What You'll Do

You will provide general urology care in clinic and hospital settings. Outpatient procedures include cystoscopy, ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy, and testosterone pellet insertion, supported by in-office lab services. Hospital-based cases include da Vinci robotic prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy, and vasectomy reversal.

You will operate with 24/7 private anesthesia group and CRNA coverage, and a hospitalist service manages non-surgical medical issues for your inpatients. Imaging resources include 3 MRIs, 3 CTs, and a PET scanner. You will also have access to a regional cancer network and teaching opportunities through the hospital's affiliations with medical schools and residency programs.

Required Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited urology residency (2026 and 2027 graduates welcome)
• Board certified or board eligible with the American Board of Urology
• Active Alabama medical license, or eligibility to obtain one
• Current DEA registration and Alabama Controlled Substances Certificate, or the ability to obtain both
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Ability to obtain hospital privileges, including robotic surgery privileges
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Training or experience in da Vinci robotic urologic surgery
• Fellowship training in urologic oncology, endourology, or reconstructive urology
• Experience with partial nephrectomy and radical prostatectomy
• Experience in a community or tertiary referral hospital setting
