Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience License: Active Nursing License Certifications: ACLS BLS PALS NIHSS TNCC Must-Have: 2 years of Emergency Department experience Description: Travelers are expected to float throughout the designated zone during their assignment. Each zone covers a 60-mile radius from the city center. Travelers are responsible for obtaining housing within this radius. Orientation will be conducted in state, even if some components are completed remotely. Schedules are created 4-6 weeks in advance with two formats available. Option A: Scheduled at a single facility for the week with potential floating within that facility. Option B: Facility assignment provided 1-2 hours before the shift start via call. Nurse to patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:5 based on acuity. Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, diabetes mellitus, trauma, stroke, and hypertension. Travelers will be required to perform Point of Care lab testing. Shifts are 12 hours, and flexibility is expected with scheduling. Weekend and holiday requirements are every other. There are no standby requirements for this role. This position does not allow for a home base facility. Successful candidates must be able to adapt and manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic environment. Compliance with hospital policies and procedures is mandatory.
