Phlebotomist

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team in Elgin, IL. Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday 9:00am-6:00pm, Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. Job Responsibilities Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups. Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc. Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner. Process billing information and collect payments when required. Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis. Maintain patient and specimen information logs. Provide superior customer service to all patients. Administrative and clerical duties as necessary. Travel to additional sites when needed. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications 1 year of phlebotomy experience. Additional Job Standards Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency or previous experience as a phlebotomist is required. Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service. Strong communication skills; both written and verbal. Ability to work independently or in a team environment. Comfortable working under minimal supervision. Reliable transportation required. Flexibility to work overtime as needed. Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test. Compensation Pay Range: $17.75 - $23.50 per hour. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience. Casual, PRN & Part Time employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan only. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
