Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)/ Home Health Aid (HHA)

*Employment Type:* Full time *Shift:* Day Shift *Description:* *Schedule: *Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm,* No Weekends or Holidays!*
*Coverage Region:* Waterbury Area
*Must be a Certified Nurse Assistant in the state of Connecticut*
*Position Purpose:*
Our home health aides provide paraprofessional services to our patients in their homes, following physician orders and in compliance with the state's Nurse Practice Act, any applicable licensure/certification requirements and our policies and procedures.
*What You Will Do:*
* Follows care plan developed by RN.
* Reports client changes in condition to RN, as described on care plan.
* Assists clients with personal care activities including bathing, mouth care, denture care, skin care, grooming, bathroom privileges, transferring, ambulation, and dressing and undressing activities.
* Assists clients with household tasks including, planning and preparing meals, feeding, light housekeeping, changing linens, making bed, and laundering clothes and bedding.
* Measures and records client's oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse respiration and blood pressure as ordered.
* Performs range of motion and other simple procedures as an extension of therapy services as assigned.
* Assists clients in self-administration of medication. This procedure must be assigned by an RN and documented in the clinical record. The Home Health / Hospice Aide shall not administer medication of any kind.
*Minimum Qualifications: *
* High School diploma or GED required.
* Active CT, CNA certification in good standing
* Completion of federally compliant training program as required by law/regulation and successful completion of a competency evaluation program.
* Documentation of one year's employment as an aide in an institution, home care, or hospice setting.
* Must have current Driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work site.
