Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory services and assisting in patient transport into and out of the facility as medically prescribed, all while operating within the scope of their professional license with minimal supervision. This role involves evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans, as well as educating patients on treatments, tests, and equipment before discharge.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physician prescribed treatments using various ventilatory equipment and devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and various suctioning methods.
• Manage oximetry and capnography monitoring in accordance with policy.
• Review patient chest x-rays and conduct pulmonary function studies as required.
• Assist with respiratory care procedures, such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement.
• Perform tracheostomy care, including tube insertion and removal.
• Carry out arterial punctures and monitor ventilation efficiency.
• Document all treatments and patient responses accurately.
• Communicate efficiently with physicians regarding therapy effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory testing and maintain high-quality standards.
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as per BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Assist in the maintenance and repair of respiratory equipment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid Respiratory Therapy license.
• Previous experience in a respiratory therapist role preferred.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required.

Schedule

This position requires a night shift, specifically 3x12.0 hour shifts per week.
