As a Coffee Shop Barista, this position will be responsible for reviewing and filling customer orders for the day, handling food in a safe manner and ensuring the work area is always clean and neat. Additionally you will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.

Primary duties and responsibilities include providing prompt, efficient and friendly customer service, handling food in a safe manner, ensuring the work area is always clean and neat, reviewing the status and appearance of the food for freshness, preparing and replenishing product as necessary, running the department registers and receiving payment, making change, etc., where applicable, removing trash in a timely manner, and maintaining strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.

Secondary duties and responsibilities include washing dishes as necessary, ordering product and supplies as necessary, pricing products for customers as necessary, assisting in other areas of store as needed, and performing other job related duties and special projects as required.

Education and experience requirements include less than high school or equivalent experience and six months or less of similar or related work experience. Physical requirements include the ability to perform medium work, visual requirements, and the ability to perform the following physical activities: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

The anticipated hourly starting wage for this position is $13.50 to $16.80 depending on experience.
