Guided by our values of safety in every step, personal accountability, one team and active learning, we deliver the critical energy that North America and the world rely on while balancing reliability, affordability and sustainability.The OpportunityOur USGO Dakota Area team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business and we are expanding our presence in Estelline, SD to support the operation and maintenance of our natural gas pipelines and associated facilities throughout Deuel County and the surrounding area.We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician who possesses knowledge and experience of high-pressure natural gas pipeline and gas storage systems, to include turbine engine compressors.This individual must be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision, who possesses strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.What You'll DoTroubleshoot, operate, and maintain engines, gas-fired turbines, gas compressors, standby generator engines, centrifugal and diaphragm pumps, low pressure boilers, oil coolers, air compressors, large-bank cooler fans and gear boxes, large diameter valves and operators, and other auxiliary equipmentAssist in full or partial gas compressor overhaulsOperate compressor engines and support equipmentPerform precision measurement and alignment functionsAnalyze engine performance reportsRead, interpret, and update drawings and schematics (P&ID and electrical)Maintain and repair pipelinesOperate and maintain valves and operatorsInspect, repair, and set regulators and relief valvesBlow down, purge, and pressurize pipelines and/or stationsStorage field facility operations and maintenance to include valve maintenance, pigging, and other tasks as requiredPerform line locates on company pipelines and/or utility line patrols and associated right-of-way maintenancePlan, coordinate, and perform mechanical maintenance activities, to include routine corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, equipment and system improvements, and major maintenance projectsInitiate corrective action to review and improve maintenance proceduresComplete work orders, enter data into job plans, create new work orders, etc. in SAP and/or BlueworxMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentPreferred QualificationsAssociate degree to include courses in engine mechanics and pneumatic troubleshootingTwo years of vocational/technical training from a recognized institution preferredExperience in maintaining and troubleshooting turbine enginesRelevant natural gas or energy industry experienceKnowledge of electronic and electrical test equipment used to troubleshoot associated equipment, such as transmitters, switches, and pressure/temperature devicesIndustrial experience in a plant environmentThis position requires candidates to:Have and maintain a valid driver's license and a safe driving recordSuccessfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, to include drug and alcohol testingBe subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and work extended days and/or weeks for emergency response purposesTravel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings, or training which would involve some overnight stays away from homeBe subject to working conditions which include adverse weather and temperatures, heavy lifting (50 pounds), and cramped conditionsAbout Our BusinessWe are a leader in North American energy infrastructure, spanning Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
