Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.What You Will Do:The Hot Section Module Center (HSMC) organization is in search of a Materials Manager responsible for leading our Non Product / Consumables materials team. The Materials Manager's responsibilities include executing materials transformation initiatives and driving strategic materials management architecture. It will include the releasing of material, managing handling methods, kitting and material movement following the fundamentals of line back logistics.Success will be measured by developing strategies and executing goals with the business units/departments and objectives to meet capacity requirements, inventory controls, cost reduction objectives, on time delivery, and control tower measures.The Materials Manager will have the opportunity to work directly with CSMC administration, materials, operations and 3PL organizations as well as the internal manufacturing groups to redefine processes, execute on business requirements and deliver to customer expectations.Provide leadership and direction to hourly workforceEnsure that HSMC - AVL is transforming to meet the customer demands in a complex manufacturing environment with constantly shifting prioritiesExecute strategies and oversee activities through multiple organizations; communicate to peers and management, the requirements that support processes to ensure smooth production flow.Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and other organizations to ensure customer expectations are met or exceededEstablish and execute standards and expectations for work effort and performance while providing regular, consistent feedback on performance to those standardsImplement Lean manufacturing measures to ensure value streams and shop operations are balanced at all times and/or to be able to identify areas of opportunity quicklyEstablish system architecture designs that consider customer requirements, resource availability, and other prioritiesBe available for shift overlapQualifications You Must Have:Bachelor's Degree combined and 5 or more years of experience in an manufacturing operations, materials management/materials planning, continuous improvement/process improvement, or related environment OOR a Master’s degree combined with 3 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, materials management/materials planning, continuous improvement/process improvement, or related environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office suiteKnowledge and understanding of continuous improvement principles (e.g. Lean manufacturing, CORE, QCPC)Qualifications We Prefer:Aerospace industry experienceExperience in a team lead/supervisory capacityExperience utilizing SAP operating systemSoluminaPower BI and Oracle Data Management TablesAdvanced knowledge of materials management strategies, Lean manufacturing system design and shop floor managementCPIM certification or willingness to earnLearn More & Apply Now!Please ensure the role type defined below is appropriate for your needs before applying to this role. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
