Contracts Administrator:
At B&A, we foster and embrace a distinct set of values that we live by and instill in all aspects of our organization: dedication, commitment, partnership, trust, and recognition. We have incorporated these values into successful delivery for our customers since 1988. B&A believes in ensuring its employees feel deeply connected to B&A, recognizing successes and hard work, and providing continuous opportunities to learn and grow. Our people are entrepreneurial thinkers that combine mindset, vision, and experience to drive value – not only to us as an organization, but to the clients we support. We promote a collaborative culture with our clients, and with each other, as one team working towards a common vision. We’d love for you to join our team!
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Contracts Administrator with experience in U.S. Government contracting to support contract management and compliance activities throughout the contract lifecycle. Working closely with senior contract professionals, program teams, and business development, the Contracts Administrator will assist in contract preparation, documentation, reporting, and coordination efforts. This role ensures compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other federal requirements while helping maintain B&A’s contractual and financial integrity.
Responsibilities:
- Support contract administration activities across all phases, including pre-award, award, modifications, execution, and closeout.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain accurate contractual documentation, such as modifications, correspondence, deliverable trackers, and compliance records.
- Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, subcontracts, NDAs, and teaming agreements under the guidance of senior contracts staff.
- Review solicitations, RFPs, and SOWs to identify key terms, requirements, and potential risks.
- Support proposal development by assisting with review of terms and conditions, gathering cost/pricing inputs, and assembling proposal packages.
- Coordinate with Government Contracting Officers (COs), CORs, and prime or subcontractor partners as needed.
- Help ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, agency supplements, ITAR, and relevant statutes.
- Provide administrative and contractual support to program management, procurement, finance, and business development teams.
- Monitor contract deliverables, deadlines, funding levels, and reporting requirements to ensure accurate and timely execution.
- Assist in identifying and tracking potential contractual risks or issues, escalating as appropriate.
- Support audits, data calls, and compliance reviews conducted by federal agencies or internal stakeholders.
- Help prepare and deliver internal training materials related to contract procedures and compliance best practices.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Government Contracting, Legal Studies, or a related field.
- 1–3+ years of experience in federal contract administration or a related role (experience with DoD, DHS, or federal agencies is a plus).
Required Skills:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of FAR, DFARS, and foundational government contracting principles.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and relevant business or contract management systems.
Desired Skills:
- NCMA certification (e.g., CAPA, CFCM, CCCM) or interest in pursuing certification.
- Familiarity with cost-reimbursable, fixed-price, T&M, and IDIQ contract types.
- Exposure to DCAA/DCMA auditing processes and general compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting subcontract administration and flow-down requirements.

- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Frequently operate standard office equipment, including computers and telephones.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, video conference, and email.
- Occasionally move about the office and lift up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to work the assigned schedule with regular and reliable attendance.
