Role: Infrastructure Automation Engineer
\nLocation: Raleigh, NC (Hybrid)
\nEmployment Type: W2
\nThe primary role is to lead Automation effort of infrastructure provisioning, build and deploy activities for NC FAST applications. This position must demonstrate a solid understanding of AWS infrastructure and software release life cycle.
\n \nThe role involves creating and maintaining Ansible playbooks, troubleshooting automation issues, ensuring consistent and reliable deployments across environments, and collaborating with DevOps and application teams to enhance CI/CD workflows. Strong knowledge of Linux, Ansible Tower/AWX, YAML, automation best practices, and infrastructure-as-code principles is required. Experience with debugging deployments, validating configurations, and improving release reliability is aplus.
\nThe position will work with IT management to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuous integration and Continuous deployment (CI/CD) of application changes. This position will interact with the architects, developers, deployment Team, and Database Administrators to ensure automation of various tasks.
\n \nThis position is required to be on call for evenings and weekends as required to meet business needs.
\n \nSkills Required / Desired
\nExperience with automating Linux OS and software patches and upgrades across multiple environments using automations tools like Ansible
\nHands on Experience (like branching, merging, configuring, and administering) with BitBucket or GIT Source Code Management tool
\nHands on experience in Automating build/deploy process including changes to database using tools like Ansible
\nExperience developing automation scripts, operational utilities, and workflow scripts using Python/Bash/Shell
\nExperience building and packaging applications with Docker, and managing and scaling containerized workloads using Kubernetes
\nExperience in infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and environment management using Terraform and Ansible
\nHands on experience developing and managing CI/CD (DevOps) pipeline using tools like Teamcity, Jenkins, Ansible
\nStrong knowledge and understanding of Amazon web Services and infrastructure
