SUMMARY OF POSITION: Opportunities exist for part-time, non-benefited instructors to teach college-level on-campus Sociology classes. Other responsibilities include submitting grades by the established deadlines and other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean and/or Dean of Humanities, Arts, and Sciences. - Master's degree in sociology, or a similar degree or master's degree with at least 15 graduate credits in sociology, or a similar degree or a combination of education and equivalent experiences to be reviewed with the application.
- Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups.
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Good computer software skills - Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, etc., electronic calendar and Email, and strong Internet familiarity.
- College teaching experience.
- Experience with Blackboard Learning Management System.
- Experience with non-traditional teaching methods such as facilitating group work, use of inquiry-based and other active learning, pedagogies, and/or contextualized instruction.
