JOB DESCRIPTION

We are a full-service, in-house catering company that hosts Weddings, Showers, Seminars, Holiday Parties, etc. throughout the year.

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Cook who is ready for more responsibility in a “Sous Chef in Training” role.

You will help us prepare and deliver high-quality, exceptional dining experiences for our guests. You must be able to work as a team, follow instructions, able to multi-task and work weekends and holidays. Reliable transportation is a requirement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Set up and keep work stations clean, tidy and sanitized.
• Monitor and prepare food and food products according to menu, recipes and established standards.
• Check that food is adequately prepared for cooking and serving.
• Maintain and follow safety and sanitation guidelines according to local health department.
• Organize cooking and food storage areas in accordance with local health department guidelines.
• Monitor stock and rotate inventory as needed, in order to control food and labor cost and waste.
• Operate, maintain and oversee operation of all kitchen equipment.
• Coordinate with front-of-the-house staff to ensure timely, high-quality service.
• Ensure break down of all workstations, clean and restock as necessary.
• Jump in to complete tasks in any station, when needed.
• Work closely with Executive Chef in daily tasks and food preparation.
• Take pride in every meal plated as it reflects our craft.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Be able to pass a background check and drug test.
• Have and maintain a ServSafe Certification
• Have strong knife skills and familiarity of various cooking techniques.
• Able to stand for long periods of time and lift 40+ pounds.
• Adhere to food safety guidelines and sanitation practices at all times.
• Have strong communication skills and problem-solving skills under pressure to effectively collaborate with kitchen and FOH team members.
• Be able to stay organized, multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Act professionally at all times with fellow team members, vendors, customers and guests.
• Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed, including weekends and holidays.

• Cooking: 2-3 years (Required)
