This position will be based out of Santa Clara County. This is an opportunity to work with an experienced team of professionals!

POSITION SUMMARY

The primary duties of the Senior Structure Representative are technical oversight and contract administration of our construction projects including inspection, planning, scheduling and coordination of construction inspection, quality assurance inspections of bridge and transportation structure work on the project, including foundations, substructure and superstructure, coordination with contractor, supervising inspectors, surveyors and materials testers as well as documentation of the project progress and payment. Responsible for maintaining accurate daily record of construction site activity and produces required reports on progress, safety, quality, schedule and budget status. Coordinates with others for documentation for contractor progress pay estimates. Does calculations to support the technical aspects of the structure work including shoring, falsework and quantities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure compliance with the construction contract requirements and shop drawing prepared by contractor Verify field dimension including vertical and horizontal field control for structures Oversee staff performing daily field inspections Prepare Daily diaries and maintains inspection records Ability to review submittals including shop drawings, product data, samples, test samples, QA plans submitted by the contractor Assist Resident Engineer with response to Request for Information from Contractor Verify compliance with applicable regulations controlling work including CAL/OSHA and SWPPP Ability to work independently. Ability to perform duties in the construction field office and effectively make decisions concerning construction work in progress and solving field problems. Inspects construction progress which may include ensuring procedures and materials comply with specifications; observes work in progress to assure conformance with requirements and acceptable workmanship Prepare reports, opinions, and recommendations for review by team leaders prior to submission to clients concerning the structures Ensure conformance with standards, established engineering practices, applicable codes and technical adequacy of design and construction Keep abreast of new methods and developments General office administration, including report reproduction, collation and deliveries will also be expected Performing calculation and acceptance of temporary structures as used in construction of bridges and structures including falsework, temporary shoring, working platforms, temporary supports. Assist in the preparation of contract change orders, contract estimates, progress pay estimates, and other documents or reports required for the Project. Coordinate the sampling and testing of construction materials to monitor compliance with contract specifications. Preparation of final as-builts Perform constructability reviews

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. 20+ years of experience in construction management for heavy civil engineering projects, with a focus on structural elements. Caltrans experience, highly desired. Experience administering Caltrans Structures Construction projects and familiarity with their standards and practices. Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of California (required). In-depth understanding of structural design and construction, including bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and related infrastructure. Proficient in contract administration and documentation, with excellent attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Basic computer skills required (Microsoft Word, Excel). Ability to work independently.
