We are currently looking for a Registered Respiratory Therapist to become part of our dedicated team. We are excited to offer a $20,000 Sign-On Bonus for new external candidates!

Schedule

• Full-time, Night Shift
• 36 Hours/Week, 3x12-Hour Shifts/Week
• Rotating holidays and weekends

Shift Differentials: Available for nights, weekends, and additional shifts.

Licensure: RRT MO Licensure is required.

Note: Only qualified external candidates will be eligible for the sign-on bonus and relocation programs.

Position Overview

The Registered Respiratory Therapist is a vital healthcare professional responsible for executing all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the Department of Respiratory Care. We seek an enthusiastic individual who is committed to the success of our expanding services and can consult supervisory personnel when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Professional Interaction: Maintain respectful and professional relationships with coworkers to foster a culture of safety.
• Therapeutic and Diagnostic Procedures: Execute all respiratory-related procedures in line with departmental policies, including:
  • Implementing and assessing oxygen and therapeutic gas functions.
  • Setting up and executing therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
  • Administering aerosolized medications.
  • Conducting CPT and IPV.
  • Setting up and monitoring ventilators according to hospital policies.
  • Collaborating with peers to enhance departmental services.
  • Performing CPR and various diagnostic procedures such as ABG analysis and pulse oximetry.
• Patient Assessment: Continuously assess and reassess patient needs, including vital signs and therapy responses.
• Collaboration: Work closely with physicians and nurses, particularly in critical care settings, including:
  • Responding to emergencies in areas like the ER and OR.
  • Assisting with bronchoscopy and minor cardiopulmonary procedures.
  • Conducting bedside studies and interpreting complex lab data.
• General Respiratory Care: Adhere to hospital policies while performing all aspects of respiratory care.
• Additional Duties: Carry out other assigned responsibilities, including equipment maintenance and record-keeping.
• Safety and Infection Control: Follow established safety protocols and maintain a clean, therapeutic environment.
• Service Excellence: Deliver high-quality, respectful care to all patients and their families.
• Quality Improvement: Engage in quality assessment and reporting as part of daily responsibilities.
• Age-Appropriate Care: Provide care tailored to various age groups, ensuring appropriate communication and involvement of family members.
• Specialized Care: Offer specialized care for patients at high risk for injury, including pain management and abuse assessment.

Job Specifications

• Minimum Education: Graduate from an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Minimum Experience: Leadership skills are preferred.
• Licensure: Must be registered with the N.B.R.C and licensed in Missouri within six months of hire.
• Independent Action: Ability to provide high-quality therapy with moderate supervision and make independent decisions in various care settings.

Expect exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and the need for protective equipment. The role requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift moderate weights and respond quickly in emergencies.
