Civil Engineering Position This is a professional level Civil Engineering Position that operates with minimal supervision to develop projects. Tasks range from obtaining funding, gaining environmental and community approvals, through support in preparation of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates. This position provides project delivery including Board updates and resolutions and working with consultants and contractors for project survey, construction, and inspection. It is expected that the incumbent will sign engineering documents and prepare information as necessary for local, state and federal funding sources. The ideal candidate is a motivated and technically skilled engineering professional with a strong foundation in civil engineering principles and a desire to grow within public service. They are detail-oriented and analytical, with the ability to interpret plans, data, and regulations to support sound engineering decisions. The successful candidate communicates effectively, both in writing and verbally, and is comfortable collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, including contractors, developers, regulatory agencies, and the public. This individual is adaptable and eager to learn, capable of managing multiple assignments in both office and field environments. They demonstrate sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work that supports safe and sustainable infrastructure. A collaborative mindset, professionalism in public interactions, and the ability to contribute to a team-oriented environment are essential. Candidates who bring experience with engineering software, project coordination, and regulatory compliance will be especially well-suited for this role. The Public Works Department is responsible for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of the County's infrastructure, including roads, bridges, drainage systems, airports, and other public facilities.
