Performs inspections to keep assigned systems functional, and to evaluate new construction projects for conformance with standards. Keeps daily records of activities. Operates a variety of machinery, including vactor, backhoe, dump truck and Mini Excavator. Performs a variety of semi-skilled trade work such as carpentry, grounds maintenance, and/or plumbing. Answers complaints according to policy and direction and makes emergency repairs. Is responsible for safe work procedures. Duties may involve hazardous working conditions common to below ground and/or confined space. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments. Employees of this classification are required to be available for operational problems, equipment emergencies, widespread storms, power outages and other operations and maintenance emergencies as deemed necessary by management after normal working hours, weekends, and holidays.
