Emergency Room Technician

Job Summary As an Emergency Room Tech, you will support safe, cost-efficient patient care in the Emergency Department, performing delegated functions from the RN or Physician. Daily tasks include conducting selected diagnostics and procedures, assisting with patient transport and lifting, and providing general clerical and cleaning support to the unit. You will execute delegated tasks, support unit operations, and contribute to a safe and efficient environment. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care as delegated by the RN and Medical Staff. Monitor and record vital signs, observe patients’ physical, mental, and emotional condition, and report any changes to nursing or medical staff. Assist with patient transport, escorting patients to exam rooms, performing and documenting general therapeutic/diagnostic measures, and acting as a transporter. Assist with updating the Emergency Department Tracking Board (EDTB) and perform unit clerk duties, utilizing hospital information systems per hospital policy. Discharge patients, enter charges, and perform order data entry as assigned by nurse or physician. Communicate with patients, families, physicians, other departments, unit personnel, and peers in an accurate, courteous, and professional manner. Demonstrate a commitment to patients, nursing staff, and the Emergency Department in accordance with team performance expectations. Requirements Required Basic Life Support – CPR, upon hire. Certified Nursing Assistant: IA, upon hire. Preferred High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire. High School GED General Studies, upon hire. Benefits Pay Range: $15.67 - $22.14 per hour.
