Data Engineer (AWS/Snowflake/Matillion)

Role: Data Engineer (AWS/Snowflake/Matillion) Location: St. Louis, MO Competencies
- Digital: Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Computing
- Digital: Snowflake
- 1+ years of hands-on experience with Matillion .
- 5+ years in ETL/ELT development , leveraging industry-recognized tools.
- 2+ years developing and supporting cloud-based data platforms , particularly Snowflake .
- Proficiency with AWS services including Lambda and data pipelines .
- Experience implementing Change Data Capture (CDC) processes.
- Strong command of SQL -stored procedures, triggers, functions, and error handling.
- Demonstrated ability in problem-solving and developing technical solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of multitasking in collaborative environments.
- Proven experience building and supporting ETL/ELT processes from multiple data sources.
- Familiarity with self-service BI tools (OBIEE, Looker, Power BI, etc.).
- Ability to document ELT processes and maintain accurate procedures.
- Skilled in data analysis, mapping, and transformation logic for project-specific needs.
- Experience creating and maintaining ELT specifications (source-to-target mappings).
- Capable of participating in production on-call support for ETL processes.
- Experience providing effort estimates and suggesting process improvements .
- Bonus: Experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) .
- Deliver small to midsize assignments or projects; present results to team, IT peers, and business stakeholders.
- Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end ELT pipelines to extract data from diverse sources into data warehouses/lakes.
- Develop and manage data models, schemas, and transformations , leveraging tools such as dbt .
- Build and manage integrations with internal/external data sources and APIs.
- Implement data validation, quality, and security controls to ensure integrity and compliance.
- Configure and monitor data infrastructure (databases, warehouses like Snowflake or BigQuery, and cloud storage).
- Optimize queries and pipeline performance to improve run efficiency and reduce load times.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and debug scheduled ETL/ELT jobs.
- Continuously enhance existing pipelines to align with evolving business requirements.
- Collaborate effectively within a team, managing priorities and escalating issues appropriately.
