Job Description

Bear's Bites is a growing, woman-owned small business specializing in high-quality, single-ingredient dog treats and chews. We are looking for a dependable, outgoing, and self-motivated individual to join our team as an Event & Brand Ambassador .

This position is perfect for someone who enjoys interacting with people, loves dogs, and is comfortable working independently.

Our Event & Brand Ambassador will represent Bear's Bites at farmers markets, festivals, vendor shows, and community events throughout Central Illinois.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing events from start to finish, including transporting supplies, setting up displays, assisting customers, processing sales, and returning equipment after events.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their responsibilities and represents our business with professionalism and enthusiasm.

Key Responsibilities

Event Setup & Operations

• Pick up event supplies, equipment, and inventory from our Pekin location.
• Transport supplies to and from scheduled events.
• Set up and tear down tents, tables, displays, signage, and merchandise.
• Organize products to create an attractive and welcoming shopping experience.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked booth.
• Pack up equipment and return supplies and remaining inventory following each event.
• Independently manage events once training is completed.

Customer Service & Sales

• Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service.
• Learn our product line and educate customers about our treats and chews.
• Answer questions and make appropriate product recommendations.
• Accurately process cash and credit card transactions.
• Maintain accountability for cash, payments, and inventory.
• Represent Bear's Bites positively and professionally.

Communication & Organization

• Communicate inventory needs, customer feedback, and event-related concerns.
• Follow company procedures for sales, equipment, and inventory.
• Handle unexpected situations and solve problems independently.
• Arrive on time and ensure events are ready for customers.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Saturday availability is required. Events are not scheduled every Saturday, but candidates must be available to work Saturdays when needed.
• Availability for occasional Sunday events.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with event setup and teardown.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to accurately handle cash and operate a credit card payment system.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Comfortable working independently without direct supervision.
• Dependable, punctual, trustworthy, and self-motivated.
• Willingness to learn about our products and confidently communicate their benefits.
• Previous retail, sales, customer service, or event experience is preferred but not required.

A company truck may be available when larger equipment needs to be transported.

Schedule & Compensation

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Part-time, event-based position.
• Primarily Saturdays, with occasional Sundays.
• Hours vary depending on scheduled events.
• Weekend availability is essential.
• Paid working hours include event preparation, transportation of supplies, setup, event operations, and teardown.
