Staff Accountant

Location: Cashmere, WA

Position Summary: The Staff Accountant supports the accounting functions of Crunch Pak and its sister company, Linda Fruit, with primary responsibility for grower accounting, grower contracts, fruit records, and cost accounting. This position works closely with Grower Relations, Procurement, Operations, and Finance to maintain accurate grower and off-line fruit records, process grower accounting activity, analyze product and production costs, and support timely financial reporting.

Job Duties:

• Grower Accounting and Fruit Records
• Administer and maintain grower contracts and related accounting records, primarily for Linda Fruit.
• Prepare grower settlements, payment calculations, and grower statements.
• Reconcile grower payable balances and investigate discrepancies.
• Track contract pricing, volume commitments, advances, deductions, and assessments.
• Maintain accurate grower records and supporting documentation.
• Maintain and reconcile grower fruit receipts, pack-out information, off-line fruit records, and related supporting records.
• Coordinate with Grower Relations and Procurement regarding grower contracts, fruit activity, and reporting.
• Assist with grower analyses, payment forecasting, and management reporting.

• Cost Accounting
• Maintain and review standard costs for raw fruit, packaging materials, ingredients, labor, overhead, and finished goods.
• Analyze product costs, production costs, and manufacturing variances for Crunch Pak and Linda Fruit.
• Analyze production yields, labor efficiency, waste, shrink, and other operational cost drivers.
• Prepare cost analyses and reports to support management decision-making.
• Partner with Operations and Procurement to understand cost drivers and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost modeling activities.
• Help improve the accuracy, consistency, and visibility of costing information across both companies.

• General Accounting and Reporting
• Prepare journal entries and assigned account reconciliations.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Assist with audit requests and financial reporting requirements.
• Develop and maintain accounting and operational reports using Excel, Power BI, Dynamics 365, and related systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, internal controls, and automation.
• Support additional accounting and financial analysis projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

• Experience: Two or more years of accounting experience required. Experience in cost accounting or grower accounting preferred. Strong understanding of accounting principles, cost accounting, account reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 and/or Microsoft Dynamics NAV preferred.

• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience with Power BI or a similar reporting tool is a plus. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial and grower information. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to following company policies, procedures, and ethical business practices.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• This position operates primarily in a professional office environment and will spend time working with accounting, grower, procurement, and operations personnel at Crunch Pak and Linda Fruit.
• Regular use of standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, printers, scanners, copiers, and filing systems.
• Employees may occasionally lift, carry, or move file boxes and office materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
