Title: Farm Supervisor (Hourly) Agribusiness: Halifax Correctional Unit 23 #W0089 State Role Title: Agricultural Specialist III Hiring Range: $20.60 - $32.07 per hour Pay Band: 3 Agency: Dept of Corr - Central Admin Location: Halifax Correctional Unit 23 Agency Website: Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties Perform daily duties of a large farm operation which includes production of row crops, vegetable crops, dairy cattle operation, beef cattle operation, maintenance of buildings, grounds, roadways and the operation and maintenance of all farm equipment utilizing inmate workforce. Provide training, supervision and evaluation to inmate workforce while performing all farm tasks. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of row and vegetable crops, greenhouse and orchard crops from planting stage to market. General knowledge of maintenance and operation of farm equipment, cattle production, building construction and land management. Demonstrated ability to operate farm equipment and demonstrated ability to supervise, follow written and oral instructions, keep accurate records and solve practical problems. A valid driver's license. Additional Considerations Agricultural, construction or equipment experience. Possession of Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Pesticide Application Permit or the ability to obtain them. High School diploma or equivalent.
