Pay Range: $45.00 per hour

Summary:
The Sonographer has formal training from an accredited Ultrasound, Vascular or Echocardiography program and possesses or is eligible to acquire certification in any of the registries defined by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Songraphy or the Cardiovascular Credentialing International credentialing bodies. These include Abdominal (AB), Breast (BR), Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN), Neurosonology (NE), Adult Echocardiography (AE), Pediatric Echocardiography (PE), Fetal Echoc radiography (FE), Vascular (RVT), Musculoskaletal Sonography (MSK) and the CCI registry. Primary duties include creation of diagnostic sonographs that meet the quality standards of the profession and the department and the provision of patient and family focused care in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Required Job Qualifications:
• Formal training in an accredited Ultrasound Program.
• Registry or Registry-eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
• Proficient in modality physics and operation of equipment.
• Knowledge of human anatomy, pathology and physiology.
• Demonstrates good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Perform Diagnostic Sonographs on a portable basis.

Physical Demands:
• Requires full range body motion including handling and lifting patients when necessary.
• Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

•Has a working knowledge of the IT systems that support the modality.
•Reports supply shortage or equipment failure to section supervisor.
•Follows work and patient schedules.
•Assist physician in the performance of procedures.
•Maintains logs and documentation as per departmental protocol.
•Provides patient history or information necessary for proper interpretation of the procedure.
•Maintains licensure/registry status as determined by state or regulatory bodies.
•Participates in the training and development of students assigned to area through clinical affiliations.
•Fills department staffing needs as seen by the management team.
