ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Plans individual cooking schedule so that all foods assigned to prepare will be properly cooked and ready at the appropriate time.
• Assembles items needed for preparation from refrigerators, freezers, and storerooms.
• Follows standardized recipes and portioning procedures to prepare meats, gravies, casseroles, vegetables and desserts that require preparation and/or cooking.
• Tastes all food during preparation to ascertain if foods are seasoned and cooked correctly; makes adjustments to seasoning and cooking time as necessary.
• Merchandises foods to be served in the dining room and at special functions in such a way to make them attractive and easily served in standardized portions.
• Monitors trayline and dining rooms throughout serving periods to ensure that foods are available to replenish when needed without delay.
• Keeps cooking area in kitchen clean and orderly at all times, following outlined cleaning procedures.
• Performs related tasks as assigned.

Holiday Pay

• Full-Time Employees:
  Employees who work on a company recognized holiday are paid at 2.5 times their regular rate.
  Employees who do not work on a recognized holiday receive 8 hours of holiday pay, in accordance with company policy.
• Part-Time Employees:
  Employees who work on a company recognized holiday are paid at 1.5 times their regular rate.
