Rehabilitation Associate I – Office of Special Disability Programs Location: Hinds County, MS Salary: $29,374.74 – $30,360.47 per year Agency Overview The Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS) serves Mississippians with disabilities to live and work independently. MDRS offers Vocational Rehabilitation, Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind, Office of Special Disability Programs, and Disability Determination Services, with additional support through Assistive Technology, the Office of Business Development, and more. Responsibilities Act as the office receptionist and manage office correspondence. Create weekly reports, file and purge records, schedule appointments, and perform general clerical, statistical, administrative, and accounting duties. Assist with casework: complete itineraries, call and schedule home visits, send appointment letters, maintain confidential case files (hard copy and electronic), and complete intakes/referrals when the Program Coordinator is absent. Prepare required Medicaid and MDRS forms. Conduct fingerprinting of potential Personal Care Attendants (PCAs), compile, verify, and process PCA payroll, and authorize services in a timely manner. Qualifications Strong oral and written communication skills, proficiency in computer use, and the ability to prioritize, plan, and provide timely services. Candidates should be multi‑tasking, detail‑oriented, analytical, and problem‑solving. Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. 0‑2 years of related experience; two (2) years preferred by the agency.
