Title Physician Hospitalist - Southwest Michigan Location BMH Bronson Methodist Hospital Description Bronson Medical Group has an excellent opportunity for an Internal Medicine board‑certified or board‑eligible physician to join our existing physician group for inpatient services at our facilities located in Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, MI. Position Highlights Coverage for both hospitals may be required on a rotating schedule of days, weekends, and nights Weekends are required Bronson has an affiliation with Western Michigan Medical School so physicians may round with residents Hospital‑employed Full‑time with flexible scheduling Opportunities for participation in committees and quality work Qualifications Prior completion of an internal medicine residency Board‑certified or board‑eligible in internal medicine Current and unrestricted Michigan state medical license as MD or DO, and DEA licensure Strong communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to providing compassionate and quality patient‑centered care Knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment Ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques Effective verbal and written communication skills with proper telephone etiquette Demonstrated ability to maintain all required medical staff privileges and certifications Bronson Methodist Hospital Offers Supportive and collaborative work environment Competitive compensation with annual quality incentives Comprehensive benefits package Relocation assistance, CME stipend, and sign‑on bonus Responsibilities Diagnose illnesses and prescribe and administer treatment for patients suffering from disease or illness Obtain medical histories and examine patients Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests Order studies, tests, and ancillary services Document all services in the patient medical record Provide medical patient care by interviewing, examining, and treating clinical patients to meet their medical needs Educate patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources to patients and families Determine which referrals are required based on examination and patient needs Determine the level of urgency of follow‑up, referral, and consultation appointments Exercise final medical judgment in all issues of health care Prescribe medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients Review long‑term cases that require ongoing medical attention on a regular basis Consult with the Medical Director and other professionals on staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues Participate in process improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by the hospital or clinic requirements Oversee mid‑level medical staff as assigned as well as nursing clinical staff Assist in the resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with federal guidelines and regulations Demonstrate commitment to providing outstanding customer service to all customers in a manner reflective of our mission, values, and customer service standards Shift: Variable Time Type: Full time Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Cost Center: 7500 Internal Medicine Hospital Specialists (BMH) #J-18808-Ljbffr
