School Principal - St. Joseph's Regional Catholic School - Beltsville Maryland St. Joseph's Church, 0301 11007 Montgomery Road, Beltsville, MD 20705 The Archdiocese of Washington is seeking a Principal to serve as an effective and instructional leader for St. Joseph’s Regional Catholic School. The role will collaborate with the Pastor and serve the Catholic community, developing students’ whole education. Full‑time. Salary range $95,000 – $110,000 with benefits. Responsibilities Catholic Identity Model Catholic values in all interactions with faculty, students, families, and the community. Actively foster and support Catholic beliefs, traditions, and practices. Reflect the Catholic Church’s teaching on social justice and witness service to others. Assist in planning and attend liturgical ceremonies as required. Promote a faith‑based school community rooted in Catholic traditions. Organization and Institutional Leadership Manage general operations and implement instructional, assessment, supervisory and disciplinary standards. Coordinate school and government programs: standardized assessments, accreditation, high‑school admissions, Title II/III, Maryland Textbook and Aging School Grants. Create and maintain the school budget ensuring viability. Plan orientations for new parents and students; schedule faculty meetings and professional development. Delegate responsibilities, foster shared leadership, and maintain a safe environment for all. Supervision and Instructional Leadership Foster an environment of rigorous academic standards and achieve student growth. Observe and provide feedback to faculty according to the Catholic Schools Office guidelines. Oversee the teacher evaluation process. Orient and mentor new faculty and staff. Student Services and Discipline Set high, value‑based standards for student behavior and enforce them consistently. Maintain accurate disciplinary records and manage conflicts among students, staff, and parents. Hold conferences related to discipline matters and keep accurate notes. Staff Development Plan a professional development program tailored to faculty needs to improve student learning. Attend meetings and professional development offered by the Catholic Schools Office. Maintain certification requirements of the state and Archdiocese. Communication Communicate regularly with stakeholders on school matters. Address faculty and staff concerns and exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills. Apply strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups of people and opinions. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Practicing Catholic committed to Catholic education rooted in Gospel values. Certified Catechist (or within three years of hire). Collaborative, team‑player. Education and Experience At least five years of instructional experience, preferably in Catholic schools. Master’s degree in educational administration, curriculum development, or related field (or in progress within two years of hire). Possession or eligibility for a Maryland, Virginia, or D.C. educational administration certificate. Expertise in standards‑based curriculum, assessment, technology integration, community relations, data‑driven instructional improvement. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required; successful instructional and leadership experience.
