ENTRY Phlebotomist I

Job OverviewPay Range: $12.75hr - $17.75hrRequirement/Must HaveAbility to handle patients with care and compassion while assisting with check ins in the lobby through either a self-service kiosk or handheld tablet.Willingness to work both in the lobby and in a draw room with patients to help with breaks that need to be covered.Perform with confidence both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.High level of customer service experience and skills are required.Keyboard and data entry experience is required.Phlebotomy experience is required, including intern or externship experience to learn the basics.ResponsibilitiesGreet patients upon arrival and answer questions or concerns with care and compassion.Maintain the integrity of the waiting area and assist with breaks when other Phlebotomists are unavailable.Utilize Phlebotomy skills to grow within the organization.Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients in a safe and accurate manner.Demonstrate excellence in customer care while focusing on process skills and sensitivity to confidentiality.Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.Maintain a safe and professional environment.Maintain required records and documentation.Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.Assist patients with check-in at the kiosk and ensure comfort while waiting for laboratory services.Fill in for breaks and cover for staffing shortages.SkillsPhlebotomyCustomer ServiceData EntrySpecimen CollectionSpecimen ProcessingQualification And EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent is required.Minimum of 1-2 years of client-facing customer service experience (e.g., Retail, Home Health Aide).Some Phlebotomy experience is required.
