Host/Hostess

Job Summary

As a Hostess/Host at Hemingway's Tavern, you are the first person to stamp the passports of our Guests on their journey to adventure. Along the way to their destination, you might point out the wonderful décor that reflects the life of our namesake Ernest Hemingway. Your job as a tour guide does not end with your initial greeting. It will continue as our Guests' journey ends as you open the door for them, thank them for the time we've spent together and let them know that we look forward to their next visit with us.

The Job:

• Manage a wait list
• Greet Guests and escort them as soon as possible to a clean table
• Bid farewell to Guests leaving, and invite them to return
• Expedite food, get beverages, and deliver these items to our Guests
• Have a good understanding of our menu
• Clean and reset tables
• Helping fellow Team Members when appropriate
• Able to work walking/standing for 100% (up to 8 hours) of shift
• Able to work outdoors in different types of weather
• Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food when necessary (30 lbs.)
• Maintain cleanliness throughout dining room and restaurant to company standards
