Cost Accountant - Inventory & Procurement

Full time Accountant needed in West Seneca, NY to assist operations of the inventory procurement and costing, reporting to the Controller of the Company.

Responsibilities and Duties Include:

• Determine quantity and timing of raw material deliveries. Communicate with vendors to ensure in-stock position of products.
• Monitor current inventory levels and movement.
• Forecast upcoming levels of customer demand.
• Inventory analysis, manage cycle counting, perform reconciliations and journal entry adjustments.
• Perform product cost updates and regular cost reviews and how changes to spending impacts profits and margins.
• Become familiar with bill of material setups
• Assist with monthly financial reporting with a focus in inventory and scrap.
• Computer related tasks - become proficient with our ERP/Accounting system and complement that with the use of Microsoft's Excel, Word & Outlook.
• Interaction with various members in the organization including the sales team, traffic/logistics, quality control, manufacturing plant leads and the owner.
• Resolve problems and streamline processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business with accounting courses
• Working knowledge of Excel and Word and Outlook
• CPA a plus
• Prior Microsoft Dynamics or equivalent ERP system use a plus
