We are open to people of all ages, beliefs, incomes, races, genders, and abilities.Job DescriptionPosition: Site CoordinatorJob Type: Part Time, 20-25 hrs/weekSchedule: After school hours, occasional mornings, evenings, and/or weekendsLocation: On-site at Chimacum Primary SchoolWorking Conditions: Busy, dynamic environment, indoors and outdoors, with occasional off-site field trips.General Function:The Site Coordinator is responsible for being on-site with children, program planning and implementation, and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the school-age after school program while ensuring alignment with YMCA core values and standards. This role includes staff leadership, curriculum/activity planning and implementation, compliance with state regulations, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and enriching learning environment for children. Under the direction of the Youth Program Manager, the Site Coordinator will work closely with families, staff, and community partners to ensure high-quality programming.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the daily operations and structure of the school-age program.Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities.Build positive, trusting relationships with children and their families, maintaining open communication to ensure each child receives the best possible support.Comply with the Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) Foundational Quality Standards and licensing regulations.Maintain regular communication with families to keep them informed about program updates, schedules, and activities through newsletters, calendars, and direct conversationsMaintain accurate and up-to-date records for all enrolled children, ensuring confidentiality of incident, emergency, and medical documentation.Participate in staff recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations.Supervise and support staff through mentorship, skill development, and training opportunities.Ensure the program site is clean, safe, and well-organized, and that all environmental standards align with school policies and DCYF licensing requirements.Create snack menus and ensure food service practices meet USDA and CACFP standards and support healthy nutrition.Assist with managing program budgets and expenditures including food planning and oversight, curriculum, staffing ratios, and supply expenditures.Assist with registrations, enrollment, and tracking payments.Attend staff meetings and trainings as requiredMaintain a safe and supportive environment by adhering to YMCA policies regarding supervision, risk management, mandated reporting, and appropriate professional boundaries with youth.Must be on the premises for the majority of hours that care is provided each day. If temporarily absent from the program, the site coordinator must leave a competent, designated staff person in charge who meets the qualifications of a lead teacher.Additional ExpectationsComplete the applicable pre-service licensing requirements, including a federal background check and negative TB test (or exemption)Complete all YMCA requirements within 7 days of hire.Complete all YMCA, DCYF, and MERIT trainings (YMCA-funded) within designated timeframes.Meet the annual professional development and on-going training requirements to satisfy DCYF licensing requirements.Maintain accurate and organized program records, including staff files, licensing documentation, and compliance reports.Assist in fundraising efforts and YMCA initiatives, including the annual campaign and special events.Report any policy violations or suspicious behavior in accordance with mandated reporting requirements.Flexible availability, including occasional evenings and weekends, as neededAll other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsBe 21 years of age or older1+ years experience working with children - school-age preferredHave completed 30 college credits in 100-level or higher coursework, OR have at least 12 such credits at the time of hire and ability to complete an additional 18 credits within five years of employment as required by licensingStrong leadership and interpersonal skills, including managing classroom dynamics, supporting staff, and building positive relationships with children, families, and colleaguesAbility to respond appropriately to safety and emergency situationsExcellent communication skills - both written and verbalStrong time management skills and the ability to delegate tasks as neededAbility to pass a federal criminal background checkBasic functional computer skillsCPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with DCYF licensing processes and regulationsExperience working or volunteering in a licensed childcare, early learning, or after school program1+ years of experience in a leadership, supervisory, administrative, or management roleAssociate's degree or higher in education, child development, or related field25 years of age or older preferred for YMCA vehicle driver eligibilityDriver RequirementsPrivate Vehicle, Requesting ReimbursementValid driver’s licenseProof of InsuranceYMCA vehicle25 years of age or olderValid driver’s licenseDriving record that meets or exceeds YMCA standards, a driver records request will be submitted.Physical RequirementsAble to bend at the waist to pick up supplies, sit on the floor, play games, and perform daily cleaning tasksAbility to lift 30 lbs.Must be able to stand or walk for extended periodsAbility to communicate verbally, including projecting the voice across distance in normal and loud situationsDexterity of hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipmentVision capabilities adequate to monitor youth in the programHearing and speaking to exchange and gather information, and provide assistance to youth and parents/guardians in the programYMCA is an Equal Opportunity Employer #J-18808-Ljbffr Olympic-Peninsula-Ymca
