Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods in a high-volume, Level I trauma, teaching hospital. Ensure patient safety, comfort, and clinical well-being throughout the childbirth process.

Responsibilities:

• Administer direct patient care within the Labor and Delivery unit, adhering to clinical protocols and standards.
• Perform advanced procedures such as cerclage, version, C-section, external and internal fetal monitoring, and neonatal palliative care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and manage obstetric emergencies.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Cerner or relevant charting system.
• Float to antepartum and postpartum units as needed to meet facility demands.
• Adhere to infection control protocols, including optional COVID vaccination reporting and safety procedures.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license, with pending license accepted at submission.
• Possess a minimum of 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery experience in a large facility.
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
• Demonstrate proficiency in FHM, circulate, and neonatal care skills.
• Capable of performing complex obstetric procedures and managing high-volume L&D caseloads.
• Able to pass EKG testing with a maximum of two attempts.
