Overview MultiCare Cancer Institute is a physician-led, multi-specialty group within MultiCare Health System, delivering integrated hematology, oncology, radiation, surgical and supportive care across Washington state. We diagnose and treat cancer cases across Olympia, Spokane, Tacoma and Yakima, and are building a comprehensive oncology network to expand services over the next five years. Note: Immediate hiring considerations include a $5,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants with 1 year of experience and a 2-year commitment. FTE: .8; Shift: Day; Schedule: Clinic hours. Position Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is an ideal role for those working with an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care in the ambulatory setting. Responsibilities Utilize the nursing process as a systematic problem-solving approach to nursing care, facilitating an optimal level of functioning and health for the patient. Perform patient triage in person, via telephone and secure messages, utilizing protocols, guidelines, and standards. Utilize assessment and analysis skills in delivering medical regimens as directed by physicians, advanced practice providers and registered nurses. Delegate selected patient care functions to others in accordance with education, credentials, and demonstrated competence. Collaborate with the clinic team to facilitate overall improvement in quality of care, patient experience and stewardship. Foster a learning environment for patients, families, and all members of the health care team. Advocate for ethical and holistic care promoting autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse backgrounds. Requirements Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program. Current Licensed Practical Nurse license in Washington State or Multistate license endorsement (MLS). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Two years of experience as an LPN in a clinic setting preferred. Pay and Benefits Pay range: $30.40 – $43.75 USD. Pay is influenced by factors such as skill set, level of experience, and certifications/education. If associated with a union contract, pay reflects the appropriate step on the pay scale.
