Analyst Financial Services 2 - Banking, Accounting, & Finance - Analysts

Job Description Full -time, Contract Duration: 08 Months Location: San Antonio, TX Prepare, analyze and distribute various financial and statistical reports, to include variance explanations utilizing cost tracing and root-cause analysis. Prepare schedules and supporting documents for annual external audit. Update department dashboards, including calculating ratios and graphing trends. Monitor benchmarks and analyze variances to those benchmarks. Perform reconciliations to ensure accuracy of data. Evaluate and recommend policies and procedures that comply with accounting and financial regulatory bodies. Perform technical research and write position papers to ensure documentation of implemented policies and procedures. Prepare and update desktop procedures, including flow charting and similar processes, while assessing current processes and recommending process improvements. Supports process improvement initiatives in the areas of cost and margin enhancement, risk mitigation, and operational effectiveness. Provide a high degree of service to internal customers by responding to financial and operating questions. Perform other projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned. The ideal candidate will have: Knowledge of accounting/analyst experience in a field supporting and providing financial, technical, analytical and operational solutions. Relative experience in financial/project management for Operational Units. Ability to work in a variety of locations such as the field, construction centers and the main office. Proficient in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and scheduling. Preferred Skills & Qualifications: Master’s degree or relevant Certification. Proficient in SAP, PeopleSoft, or Hyperion. Relative experience in supporting the electric or gas utility industry.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
