Location: Munster, IN
Pay: $18.00-$20.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:30 PM
Work Environment: Full-Time | 100% Onsite

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Patient Scheduler to join a busy healthcare scheduling team in Munster, Indiana. This position is responsible for handling inbound and outbound calls, scheduling medical examinations and procedures, verifying patient information, and ensuring patients receive accurate appointment details and preparation instructions.

• Handle high-volume inbound and outbound calls to schedule medical examinations, diagnostic tests, and procedures.

• Follow established scheduling guidelines, call scripts, and departmental procedures to ensure accurate appointment scheduling.

• Collect and verify patient demographic information, insurance details, and other required information to support pre-registration.

• Receive, review, and route physician orders, messages, and faxes to the appropriate departments or healthcare providers.

• Maintain scheduling worklists, follow up on outstanding requests, and respond to voicemail messages in a timely manner.

• Provide patients with appointment details, arrival times, location directions, and preparation instructions.

• Answer patient questions professionally and direct clinical questions to the appropriate healthcare personnel.

• Maintain accurate patient records and scheduling documentation.

• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve scheduling issues and support efficient patient care.

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Customer service or call center experience; 1-2 years preferred.

• Familiarity with medical terminology or previous experience in a healthcare environment.

• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to manage a high volume of phone calls while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.

• Reliable attendance and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to work onsite in Munster, IN, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM-5:30 PM.

• Previous experience in patient scheduling, central scheduling, patient access, or a healthcare call center.

• Experience collecting insurance information and completing patient pre-registration.

• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), scheduling systems, or physician order processing.

• Experience following call scripts and managing inbound and outbound scheduling queues.

• Competitive Pay: $18.00-$20.00/hour.
