Registered Nurse - NICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
The NICU RN is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill newborns and their families in a neonatal intensive care setting. They coordinate patient care, perform assessments, and deliver education to support positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor neonates' vital signs, conditions, and responses to treatments.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans considering psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
• Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, interventions, and assisting with procedures.
• Educate families about their infant's condition, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient transitions and holistic care.
• Document patient progress, care plans, and interventions accurately in electronic health records.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid California RN licensure.
• Maintain current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Possess NRP certification.
• Have at least 2 years of experience in Level III or Level IV NICU or high-risk delivery settings.
• Demonstrate charge nurse experience and proficiency in neonatal critical care.
