Paraprofessional

Leaders Influencing Freedom & Excellence (LIFE) Academy will implement a curriculum and instruction that advances a trauma-sensitive learning environment through culturally relevant and holistic pedagogy, student connectedness, and authentic community partnerships.

LIFE Academy is looking for Teaching Fellows to join our dynamic team.

  • In partnership with a mentor teacher, develop and deliver academically rigorous lessons; create rubrics and assessments.
  • Plan and supervise purposeful special projects
  • Assess individual student's progress and learning needs; demonstrate a relentless focus on helping students achieve
  • Offer/receive constructive feedback to create a professional atmosphere conducive to continuous development.
  • Help shape and develop a school-wide atmosphere that best suits the needs of our students, teachers, and families.
  • Communicate students' progress toward realizing academic and character development goals with families weekly

Requirements

  • At least 60 credit hours or completion of the WorkKeys assessment with the minimum score requirements to be eligible for this position.
  • Experience working with students/children in an educational setting (after school program, student teaching, etc.) (preferred)
  • Demonstrate measurable success in previous experiences related to education or working with students
  • Experience teaching underserved students (preferred)

  • Willingness to be flexible and to go above and beyond to meet the needs of L.I.F.E. Academy students

  • The person selected for this position must agree to a background check, be fingerprinted, and pay a $46.20 fee. This is required by law.
  • For employees starting work after the beginning date of the work term, the salary will be prorated and based on the number of contract days left in the school year, divided by the remaining months in the contract year.

Salary: $25,000.00
