About the job
Trade Fair is a Queens grocery chain known for international foods and a full-service butcher shop with custom cuts and halal options. Stores are open 24 hours.

You cut, trim, and display fresh meat to order, keep the case full and clean, and help customers get the cut they want.

Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, grind, and package beef, lamb, chicken, and other meats
• Fill and face the meat case throughout the shift
• Take custom-cut orders and advise customers on cuts and cooking
• Follow halal handling rules where required
• Rotate product, check dates, and keep waste low
• Clean saws, grinders, tables, cases, and the cutting room
• Receive meat, check quality and temperature, and put product away
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and company standards
• Help other fresh departments when needed

Requirements

• Hands-on butcher or meat-cutter experience in a supermarket or shop
• Comfortable using a knife, saw, and grinder safely
• Able to stand for long periods and lift 50 lbs
• Able to work early mornings, nights, weekends, or holidays as scheduled
• Food-handler or similar certification a plus

Preferred

• Halal cutting experience
• Queens / NYC grocery experience
• Knowledge of international cuts and customer requests
