For more on the services we offer, please see Why we need you At Asian Student Achievement, our content writing intern plays a vital role in supporting our organization's grant writing and marketing. The content writing intern is in charge of creating content for our blog, creating copy for our social media posts in collaboration with the Marketing Coordinator and Operations Manager. The content writer will also be in charge of helping researching and writing applications for grants with the Operations Manager. By assisting with various market-related tasks, the intern contributes directly to the marketing of our programs and initiatives, ultimately enabling us to fulfill our mission of helping Asians and Asian Americans through the pipeline to leadership. We rely on the dedication and expertise of our interns to help us achieve our goals and fulfill our commitment to creating positive change in the community. Responsibilities Newsletter Manage and create content for our monthly newsletters, including pieces such as short articles, event recaps, promotions, partnership news, staff and donor spotlights, and any other items as they come up. Review, edit, and proofread all newsletter content. Blog & Articles Assist with research and interviewing to gather information and data for content creation. Create topic-relevant articles for organization events. Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency. Social Media Posts Write copy & captions for social media posts. Use SEO (search engine optimization) best practices to optimize content for search engines and social media platforms. Organization & Event Promotion Review & edit workshop event presentations, event recaps, marketing materials, and partnership marketing materials. Miscellaneous Review & edit job descriptions, formal statements, website materials, and intern contracts. Assist in the development of content calendars and schedules. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Must have valid work status (U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents can disregard this). We will not be able to sponsor you for any other type of visa, e.g. H-1B. You may use your OPT (optional practical training) hours with us. We will not be able to pay for any costs associated with work status and eligibility. You may first need approval from your school and/or the U.S. Government before interning with us. Please take care of this before interviewing with us. Commit to a minimum of 8 months for the internship with the possibility of extension or promotion Commit to a minimum of 10 hours a week to assigned tasks, meetings, and ASA events (we will reimburse you for any required travel). Self-driven with the ability to work both independently and as a team member. Basic networking skills and command of conversational skills for interaction with clients and teammates in remote settings. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Must show work examples of any of the following: previous portfolio, published articles, web copy, social media copy, or marketing campaigns. Non-compete clause: While working for ASA, you are not allowed to work as a volunteer, part-time, or full-time employee with any competing organization or company that offers our business plan.
