Overview Spear Physical and Occupational Therapy is looking for motivated occupational (OT) and physical therapists (PT) passionate about hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. Candidates should have a solid foundation in hand therapy from clinical education and desire mentorship, advanced training, and hands‑on practice. Responsibilities Develop and progress individualized treatment plans including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, custom orthotic fabrication, and patient education. Empower patients with home programs and strategies that support functional goals and recovery. Collaborate closely with referring physicians, surgeons, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure exceptional outcomes. Qualifications License (or be license eligible) to practice Occupational or Physical Therapy in New York. Completed a Level II fieldwork placement or outpatient rotation in hand therapy or equivalent experience during clinical education. If transitioning from another practice area, demonstrate a commitment to hand therapy through continuing education coursework or certifications in upper extremity rehabilitation. Dedication to becoming a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) with support of a collaborative team. Masters or Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (optional but preferred). Competitive salary range $85,000 – $120,000 per year, inclusive of incentives. Physical Demand Capacity Manual dexterity and general strength and endurance. Lifting routinely 5–35 lbs. from floor to waist, waist to shoulder, shoulder to overhead. Carrying routinely 5–10 lbs. for 40–50 feet. Pushing routinely 5–150 lbs. on casters, runners or pulleys. Maintaining grip for 1–2 minutes at 40–50 lbs. Guarding a “lift load” routinely 120–140 lbs.
