Academic Program Mgr I Location: Atlanta, Georgia | Regular/Temporary: Regular | Full/Part Time: Full-Time | Job ID: 300457 Job Summary Oversee administrative and logistical support to assigned degreed and/or non-degreed academic program offerings of an Institute academic unit. Facilitate the various actions required to successfully offer and conduct academic programs. These actions may range from student recruitment and retention to program development. May be responsible for setting employee goals, assessing performance and providing feedback and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a consistent basis with academic administrators, faculty members, prospective students, enrolled students. This position typically will advise and counsel prospects, students. This position will supervise: May supervise academic advising and administrative staff members. Responsibilities Coordinate the application process through response to prospect inquiries, scheduling interviews, maintaining applicant records, etc. Oversee student recruitment/program promotional event preparation. Supervise/provide advice for students and prospective students regarding assigned program offerings and academic progress. Prepare and disseminate communications materials regarding programs. Develop and administer program budget. Prepare reports related to program performance. Review program processes and procedures, recommend modifications as appropriate. May plan and supervise daily staff work activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Academic Affairs, Business Management, Education or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience Other Required Qualifications US citizen or permanent resident Required Experience Five to six years of job related experience Preferred Qualifications Program development and coordination Experience in higher education; research experience, either as a student or mentor Experience coordinating undergraduate research or experiential learning Involvement in professional organizations related to undergraduate research Strong communication skills, including written communication and public speaking; ability to tailor messaging/communications to different audiences Experience in expanding participation and supporting student success Web content management Data analysis and reporting Proposed Salary Job Grade: A8. Salary Range: $56,679 - $76,000 annually. Salary will be commensurate with experience and education. This position does not have any financial responsibilities. This position will not be required to drive. This role is not considered a position of trust. This position does not require a purchasing card (P-Card). This position will not travel. This position does not require security clearance. The person in this position will manage student-facing programming for the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program, with the goal of increasing the proportion of students participating in undergraduate research, and the proportion of research students participating in UROP programming. Develop and maintain a comprehensive listing of undergraduate research opportunities across campus. Deliver programming to recruit and support students in research. Oversee application, review and award processes for the President’s Undergraduate Research Awards and other associated awards and recognition activities. Coordinate with units across campus that provide research opportunities, that can increase student exposure to research in their fields, and that support student professional development. Assess program reach and impact and adjust offerings to address unmet needs. Be an active member of the Experiential and Engaged Learning division, to increase student participation in experiential and transformative learning.
