Evansville Manor a skilled nursing facility in the Eden Senior Care Network, is now hiring a Cook! Position: Cook (Full-time) Split Shift: Mix of 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM & 11:30 AM - 7:30 PM Responsibilities Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to approved menus, standardized recipes, and resident diet orders. Prepare therapeutic and modified-texture diets, including diabetic, renal, cardiac, low-sodium, mechanical soft, chopped, ground, and pureed meals. Ensure meals are properly portioned, accurately prepared, and served on time at the correct temperature. Follow food safety, sanitation, infection control, and cross-contamination prevention practices. Assist with tray line and meal service, ensuring trays are complete and accurate. Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils. Properly label, date, store, and rotate food using FIFO procedures. Monitor food inventory, assist with deliveries, and report shortages or waste. Complete required temperature logs and other dietary documentation. Work closely with dietary aides, nursing staff, and dietary management to ensure residents' dietary needs are met. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous cooking experience, preferably in an institutional, healthcare, or long-term care setting. Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and large-volume food preparation. Familiarity with therapeutic diets, food allergies, and modified food textures. Ability to read and follow menus, recipes, and diet orders accurately. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
