Canyon Falls Farm is seeking an experienced Controller to join our local finance team!

Summary:

The Controller II is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and supporting timely financial reporting. This role manages month-end close activities, assists with budgeting and forecasting processes, maintains compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls, and supervises accounting staff. The Controller II serves as a key partner to operational and finance teams by providing financial analysis and supporting continuous process improvement initiative

Responsibilities:

• Maintain complete and accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies and U.S. GAAP.
• Manage daily accounting operations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed assets, and general ledger activities.
• Lead and participate in month-end and year-end close processes for multiple company ledgers, ensuring timely and accurate financial results.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and supporting analyses.
• Assist in the preparation, analysis, and monitoring of operating and capital budgets and forecasts.
• Analyze financial and operational data and provide actionable insights to management.
• Execute and monitor internal controls and escalate identified control deficiencies or compliance concerns.
• Collaborate with field finance groups, corporate teams, and operational leadership on accounting, reporting, and analysis initiatives.
• Supervise and develop accounting team members, including performance management, training, and professional development.
• Support audit activities by preparing schedules, documentation, and responses to auditor requests.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and data accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience; manufacturing, agriculture, or related industry experience preferred.
• Public accounting (audit) experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
• Experience with financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Proficiency with ERP accounting systems, financial reporting tools, spreadsheets, databases, and Microsoft Office applications; Infor and/or Lawson experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
• Travel may be required between office and field locations.
• Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills are a plus.
• Eligible candidates must be willing and able to work on-site at the Burley office during standard business hours - no remote work.
