Quality Control TechnicianArcosa Asphalt is seeking a Quality Control Technician based out of our Asphalt locations throughout Central and Northern New Jersey to play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our materials in our East Region. This role is responsible for sampling and conducting tests on asphalt and aggregates to ensure they conform to the appropriate agency standards using the appropriate testing methods.Day to DayActively promote safetyYour primary responsibility will be to sample and conduct sampling and testing of asphalt and aggregates used in asphalt to ensure compliance with State, local and customer specificationsMaintain a database in addition to testing, you will be responsible for documenting and reporting informationThis requires you promptly and accurately complete testing and report your findings to your supervisorRoutinely monitor truck loads of asphalt and stockpiles for segregation and contaminationPerform daily inspections of the lab and equipment and maintenance as necessaryMaintain strong communications with other plant employees and operatorsMay be required to travel to other sitesMay require night shift/overnight hoursMay require overtime and weekendsOther duties or responsibilities as assignedAbout YouPrompt, regular, and predictable attendanceHave a positive attitude and open to listening and learning new proceduresBe detail oriented and well organizedSelf-motivated positively by working independently, however demonstrate eagerness to participate with being part of a team settingGood written and verbal communication skillsAble to clearly and politely communicate with agency representativesBe proficient in Microsoft office suite and relevant software packages like StonemontExperience in asphalt and aggregate testing and NJSAT level 1 and level 2 certifiedCan lift up to 80 poundsValid driver licenseMust be able to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, for an extended periodThe ability to work in varied outdoor environments (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)Basic math skills are vital for purposes of accuracyHigh school diploma or GED equivalentWorking ConditionsWhile most areas have air conditioning, there will be times when other responsibilities may require periods of work in all weather conditions including heat, cold, wet, dry, and dusty.Compensation:$24.36 - $28.52BenefitsMedical, Dental, and Vision InsurancePaid vacation and sick time401k with Employer Match11 paid Company holidaysLife InsuranceShort-Term and Long-Term Disability InsuranceTuition reimbursementHealth & Wellness ProgramsFlexible Spending AccountsEmployee Discount ProgramsProfessional Training and Development ProgramsCareer Advancement Opportunities – We like to promote from within!The above statements describe the general nature and responsibilities of the position.
