Sr. Fraud Strategy Analyst

Senior Fraud Strategy Analyst The Sr. Fraud Strategy Analyst reports directly to the Manager, Enterprise Fraud Strategy, supporting business reporting and analytical needs for multi‑channel payment systems. The role is hybrid (Mon through Thu on‑site, Fri remote) for candidates in the Kansas City metropolitan area and open to qualified remote candidates within the United States. Responsibilities Work with Enterprise Fraud Prevention and Claims teams to provide data that identifies emerging fraud trends and overall fraud performance across all payment channels. Analyze fraud trends using statistical modeling, including decision tree analysis, and recommend actionable solutions to the Manager, Enterprise Data Strategy. Collaborate with the Manager, Enterprise Data Strategy to deliver data and reports that meet the business needs of the enterprise fraud unit. Identify fraud exposure with Enterprise Fraud Prevention and Claims teams and adjust fraud prevention systems to detect and mitigate fraudulent transactions. Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of existing analytical tools. Produce data and reporting to fulfill the business needs of the Director of Enterprise Fraud Operations and senior executives. Provide quality oversight to strategy changes, validating the analysis supporting any changes. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Work with product partners to identify new product fraud risks and develop/implement appropriate controls and safeguards. Communicate regularly with peer banks and industry organizations to maintain awareness of industry risks and trends. Stay current with UMB's fraud policies and procedures. Furnish and deliver professional presentations at various forums and committees to multiple levels of leadership. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in statistics or an equivalent field of study, or at least five years of data analytics or banking industry experience. At least four years of hands‑on experience with card, check, ACH and/or wire fraud strategy development and analysis. Demonstrated aptitude in First Data's Defense Edge, IBM's Safer Payment or an equivalent fraud strategy system. Proficiency in SAS or an equivalent data analytics system. Knowledge of analysis tools such as Angoss' Knowledge Studio. Strong problem‑solving, analytics, and reporting skills. Ability to manage time and meet deadlines while working under limited supervision. Demonstrated proactive and collaborative teamwork. Legal authority to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship is available). Compensation : $57,760.00 – $124,170.00.
