Women's Health Data Analyst - Healthy Start

Job Summary The Women’s Health Data Analyst supports the Women’s Health Service Line by providing data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and operational excellence in women’s health. This role reports to the AVP, Women’s Health Service Line, and combines analytical and technical skills with stakeholder collaboration to drive impactful outcomes. The Analyst will compile, analyze, and interpret data to ensure Healthy Start program and other state-funded program compliance with contract requirements, identify trends, and address issues to optimize program efficiency. This role will work with the Program Director to create reports for distribution across the consortium, Wellstar Health System, and ongoing grant reporting requirements. Impact on the Organization: The Business Intelligence Analyst contributes to improved health outcomes for women, optimized resource use, and better value-based care contract performance through data-driven leadership and actionable insights. Core Responsibilities And Essential Functions HRSA Grant Primary Duties: complete all required training to analyze, aggregate, monitor, or report data collected through Healthy Start Data Collection Tools and standardized client-level data elements. Produce monthly and quarterly reports for the Program Director and Division Healthy Start and Perinatal Services to maintain compliance with the Healthy Start Monitoring and Evaluation Data System (HSMED). Create programmatic reports related to Healthy Start grant goals and deliverables. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for Group-Based Health Education and Case Management/Care Coordination participants using defined data collection tools and procedures. Generate reports from the Healthy Start case management system for contractual compliance; collect and analyze data from the Healthy Start Billing System for provider payment statements. Reconcile earnings to funding remittances; prepare and submit payment statements to providers; track payments, earnings, and contract cap balances; provide leadership with summary reports. Provide technical assistance and claim analyses to providers to maximize revenue; document claims research activities and outcomes. Prepare data files for biannual provider contract cap resets; support quarterly audits for Leadership and the Executive Board. Conduct QA/CQI activities, research Medicaid claims and Healthy Start services to identify statewide trends and data gaps; develop statewide report cards on critical metrics. Uphold and update policies to comply with federal guidelines; monitor local implementing agencies for programmatic compliance. Produce semi-annual demographics, service utilization, and performance reports for local implementing agencies; submit annual performance and demographics reports to the federal funder. Act as a champion for Women’s Health analytics within the organization; advocate for data-driven decision-making and support data needs across departments. Data Analytics and Visualization Utilize advanced analytics to extract insights from diverse datasets related to women’s health services. Develop and present data visualizations, reports, and dashboards to communicate findings and actionable insights. Use technology tools to create interactive, user-friendly visuals that support understanding and decision-making. Collaboration and Governance Collaborate with IT, Data & Insights, and other stakeholders to ensure data governance, proper data requirements, and appropriate data structures for reporting and analysis. Maintain data integrity and security while complying with regulatory requirements. Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to Wellstar Health System policies and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education Bachelors in Business Administration/Management or Bachelors in Information Technology or Bachelors in other related fields Required Minimum License(s) And Certification(s) All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. Required Minimum Experience Minimum 3 years working directly with customers from requirements gathering through delivery of interactive data visualizations. Minimum 3 years working with complex data sets in a relational database environment with tools such as SQL Server, MS Access, SAS, MS Excel, and other visualization tools. Required Minimum Skills Experience designing and building publication-ready interactive and self-guided data visualizations from structured and unstructured data. Strong ability to learn new technology concepts and tools; familiarity with SQL or other query languages is recommended. Intermediate skills with relational databases; familiarity with statistically appropriate data and process analysis. Strong analytical, problem-solving, attention to detail, and accountability; self-motivated and well-organized with good time management. Ability to work independently or in a team; strong interpersonal communication across organizational levels.
