In operation since 2007, Safford operations is a zero-discharge facility and one of the most sustainable mines in the United States. The operation's commitment to utilizing advanced technologies and sustainable practices strongly emphasizes safety and environmental stewardship. Located in southeastern Arizona, close to more than 4 million acres of national forest, employees and their families can connect with the great outdoors while fishing, rafting, hiking and more. Several educational institutions also are nearby, including a Northern Arizona University satellite campus, Eastern Arizona College, and the Gila Institute for Technology.

Skilled employees in a process environment who operate, and may perform minor maintenance on, material handling systems, such as conveyors, transfer chutes, flow systems, and flotation/grind mills.

Operates heavy equipment

Trains and mentors other Operations employees

Communicates through computer dispatching system or two-way radio

Performs pre-shift inspection of equipment

Performs equipment preventative maintenance such as adding fuel, coolant, oil and air as necessary

Performs operations support activities

Performs other tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

At least two (2) years of experience in the trade

Experience with material handling equipment

Must have completed academic and practical competencies required and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required.

Preferred:

High School diploma or GED

Crushing and Stacking Operating experience

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $27.00-$36.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
