About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to serve as the senior physician leader, driving the advancement and transformation of clinical strategy across its diverse businesses. The CMO will be responsible for collaborating with business leaders to shape the clinical vision, enhance quality, affordability, and innovation, and advance the organization's clinical value proposition. This role demands an innovative physician executive with deep expertise in pharmacy, PBMs, specialty, disease management, technology, AI, external and government affairs, and patient-centered care. The successful candidate will also be an external-facing clinical leader, representing the company to clients, providers, and regulators, and will be instrumental in bringing market, client, provider, pharma, government, and industry perspectives into the business's priorities and growth agenda. Candidates for the CMO position at the company must have a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree, with an MBA and/or relevant business experience preferred. A minimum of 15 years of clinical and clinical leadership experience is required, ideally with a background in specialty pharmacy, pharmacy benefits management, managed care, hospital, retail, or industry settings. The role demands a strategic thinker with the ability to influence business strategies, work cross-functionally, and set priorities. The CMO will also be responsible for clinical operations oversight, prior authorization transformation, and clinical product development and innovation. Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills are essential, as is the ability to balance clinical excellence, business objectives, patient outcomes, and market opportunities.
