The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, and shipping finish goods, materials, products, and supplies in a manufacturing environment. This position ensures accurate inventory records, timely movement of materials, and compliance with company safety and quality standards including SQF, GMP, and HACCP. Employee Type: Full time Location: IL Elk Grove Job Type: Production Group Job Posting Title: Entry Warehouse Team Member Job Description: Schedule: 2nd Shift 5:00pm to 1:30am, Monday - Friday, with potential for Saturday work based on production schedule. Work Location: 1325 Chase Ave, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007 Salary, based on experience and other qualifications: $23.55 to $24.80 per hour, plus the shift differential. Duties and Responsibilities: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. What an Entry Warehouse Team Member Does: Greets and check in Delivery drivers. Schedule and receive incoming shipments, and verify contents against purchase orders, packing list, or invoices. Inspect incoming materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report issues as needed. Unload, sort, label, and store materials in designated warehouse locations. Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation. Coordinate with production, purchasing, and warehouse personnel to ensure material availability. Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management systems and/or ERP systems. Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, company procedures, and safety standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Assist with loading and unloading trucks. Track and process shipping and receiving paperwork accurately and efficiently. Communicate effectively with our 3rd party locations and distribution center to ensure timely movement and tracking of products and materials. Perform other duties as assigned by Lead, Supervisor, or Manager. Desired Qualifications Previous experience with Shipping and Receiving in a manufacturing environment. Previous experience in the food industry and knowledge of GMP’s preferred. Experience with ERP Software preferred. Experience in Microsoft office (words, excel, outlook) High School diploma or equivalent Competencies Ability to work independently and to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Diligent work ethic with willingness to learn. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Diplomacy and tact required. Ability to perform basic math calculations. Proficient computer skills required, including data entry skills. Ability to analyze data and resolve discrepancies. Attention to detail and troubleshooting. Work Environment The employee is frequently exposed to cold, wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Constantly in the move checking inbounds and outbound loads. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for the duration of the production shift; talk or hear; use hands or finger to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is infrequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 70 pounds.
